Throughout a fourteen-month period in 2007 and 2008, RAGFL embarked on a “Buy Now” public awareness campaign. The ads were geared at encouraging potential homebuyers that now is a great time to buy a home in South Florida. The campaign featured advertisements in the Fort Lauderdale’s Sun Sentinel Home Spot every Sunday, as well as bi-monthly advertisements on Mondays in the Sun Sentinel's Main Section. The ads, which ranged from full, half and quarter-sized pages, varied between full color and black and white. All ads featured a consistent "Buy Now" theme with different, specific messages from week to week.
"As one of the largest REALTOR® Associations in the nation, we wanted to do our part and make the public aware of the wide range of home buying opportunities currently available and, more importantly, the benefits to using a REALTOR " said Richard Barkett, RAGFL CEO. “We received such positive feedback from the campaign from both REALTORS® and consumers alike that we hope to carry out a similar campaign in 2009.”
Collaboration with NAR
The campaign ran in collaboration with the National Association of REALTOR® (NAR) to encourage home sellers to protect what could be their largest investment by enlisting the help of a professional. Now in its 10th year, the NAR Public Awareness Campaign has helped millions of consumers realize the value of using a REALTOR® to help them buy or sell real estate, and is now educating consumers about the value of housing as a long-term investment. Throughout the greater part of 2008, ads were broadcast nationwide and aired more than 8,750 times on national TV and cable outlets and more than 25,000 times on local radio stations through a national campaign.
