Introducing iError!

Tired of seeing incorrect info on listings?

Have you ever been?

The above issues along with a dozen other things have become a regular occurrence on the MLS. Now you can do something about it. RAGFL is proud to introduce iError. The iError program is yet another RAGFL EXCLUSIVE tool. This utility, built directly into MLXchange, allows you report a listing error or violation at the exact moment that you see it.

How easy is it to use?

  1. Simple, if you're looking at a listing in the "Details" screen and you wish to report a visible error.
  2. Go to the "Action Menu" on the bottom left.
  3. Click on the Drop Down and look for "Report Data Error" and click the green arrow.Action Dropdwon
  4. This will bring up an email box that is already addressed to the appropriate authority. Email ScreenMake sure you include a detailed description of the error or violation you are reporting.
  5. Just click SEND and you are done...Yes, it's THAT simple!

The iError tool will notify the MLS Department of the reported error/violation for that particular listing, contacts the Listing Agent about the error and also tracks and logs the information for follow-up that is needed... The best part is, it's anonymous so if you report an error none of your information will be communicated to the Listing Agent.

Examples of reportable MLS Data Errors

Wrong Property Status

Have you ever discovered that a listing shows as Active, yet the Listing Agent tells you that it is Under Contract? This listing should have been changed to status B (Accepting Backup Offers) or PS (Pending Sale). Also, what about those listings that show PS (Pending Sale) and, upon further review, are really CS (Closed Sale). These are things that will cause the listing information to be unreliable and would constitute a violation.

Wrong MLS Area

Ever conducted a search and find that a listing shows the wrong area number? When a property is listed, the Listing Agent is to make sure that their listing data is not only accurate, but geographically correct by checking the area # the property is in prior to listing it on the MLS. Your failure to do this prevents others searching for a property from finding and showing your listing.

Listing Incorrectly Mapped

Have you tried to bring up a listing on a Map to see where it is located and you see that the listing is not positioned where is should be on the map? The likely reason for this is because the Listing Agent neglected to use the "MAP PROPERTY" function when listing that property. The system relies on the Agent to not only list their property but also to position it on the Map by clicking on the MAP PROPERTY button. These issues should also be reported by using the "Report an error" function.

Properties Listed in the wrong Property Type

Sometimes properties that are RE2 properties are listed as RE1's due to listing Agents attempting to "Hide" a listing from the general public. Sometimes it is inadvertently done. If you see that an RE1 shows as an RE2 or vice versa, click on the "Report an Error" option and report this to the MLS Department. Remember to describe the error that is being reported.
